Celebrating Our RoadHeroes: The Heart of Europe’s Logistics

Every day, truck drivers are working hard to keep communities in Europe strong and moving forward. This event is a recognition of the unsung heroes who work tirelessly, often under challenging conditions, to ensure that goods are delivered on time and that our economies continue to thrive.

The importance of truck drivers has never been more apparent, especially as Europe faces a critical shortage of drivers—a challenge that is already impacting the industry. According to a recent report by the International Road Transport Union, half of the truck operators in Europe are unable to expand their operations due to a lack of drivers. This shortage is not just a minor inconvenience; it’s a significant threat to the stability of supply chains across the continent: By 2027, Europe could be short of over 400,000 drivers, a situation that could disrupt the flow of goods and services.  

As demand for road transport continues to rise, the lack of qualified drivers is creating bottlenecks, leading to increased pressure on the existing workforce. These drivers, our RoadHeroes, are doing more with less, taking on longer hours and more challenging routes to keep our economies running.
